NEW FORUM: If you haven't dinked around the website lately, check out the new forum Pedregoso Rios discovered. He's been asking team ownership groups to vote on where they think the SLPL all-star game should be played . . . Team owner George Dunne's debacle of a team continues to hold down the 48th spot, much to the surprise of SLPL administrators. Any team that carries both Trot Nixon and Brandon Duckworth should be leading the league . . . THE TEAM TO WATCH: Brian Styers' Fort Ord Fiends have rallied lately with a balanced attack . . . On the real life baseball front, Scott Brown's Carmel High School team won yet another Mission Trails Athletic League title this year. Not bad for a team with mostly sophomore starters. Scott says the secret to the team's success this year is mainly the result of his teaching his hurlers to breath through their eyelids . . . Jeren "Skeeter" Livernois of P-Town Playaz might be having difficulty catching James Gallagher in the SLPL standings, but he had few problems handling Coast Conference pitching this year. Skeeter hit .347 with 5 homers for Monterey Peninsula College this season during conference play. He was named honorable mention all-conference first baseman. ©2002 Tony Livernois and Joe Livernois.
