Bonus Points

TOP

Bonus points will be awarded to teams whose hitters or pitchers perform rare feats opposite their specialties. So, pitchers on your pitching roster will be awarded bonus points for rare hitting feats and hitters on your hitting roster will be awarded bonus points for rare pitching feats. (Note: You cannot put, say, Mike Hampton on your hitting roster ... you don't want him anyway since his specialty is giving up home runs, not hitting them!)

.
Hitters earn 10 points for pitching a K
. Pitchers earn 20 points for hitting a home run
. Pitchers earn 50 points for hitting a grand slam

During the Divisional Playoffs
.
Hitters earn 20 points for pitching a K
. Pitchers earn 40 points for hitting a home run
. Pitchers earn 100 points for hitting a grand slam

During the League Championship Series

. Pitchers earn 60 points for hitting a home run
. Pitchers earn 150 points for hitting a grand slam

During the World Series
.
Hitters earn 40 points for pitching a K
. Pitchers earn 80 points for hitting a home run
. Pitchers earn 200 points for hitting a grand slam

Mid-Season Trades

TOP

Mid-Season Trades
At mid-season, during the All-Star break, you will be allowed to trade one (1) hitter and one (1) pitcher. You will receive the first-half stats of the player you trade and the second-half stats for the player you trade for.

Mid-Season Trade Fees
$10 per trade

Disabled List Trades

TOP

Disabled List Trades
This year, owners will be allowed to make up to two (2) 15- or 60-day disabled list (DL) trades. You can only trade players that have gone on the official Major League Baseball Disabled List or players that, within two weeks of the end of the regular season, have been designated as "out for season." A DL trade is in effect one day after you notify Pedregoso Rios (by e-mail only) with a copy to Rube Furrow. DL trades are not retroactive to the date the player went on the Disabled List or was designated as "out for season.". You will receive the "to date" stats of the player that you trade and the remaining season stats of the player you trade for.

30- or 60-Day Disabled List Trade Fees
.
15-day DL Trade = $15
. 60-day DL Trade = $10
. Out-for-Season Trade = $10

Premium Trades

TOP

Premium Trades
From the April 24 SLPL Digest:

In an effort to ... juice the pot for the Overall Champ and Regular Season Champ, the 2003 SLPL is instituting Premium Trades, available to any George Steinbrenner wanna-be's who erroneously believe they might be able to buy themselves a championship. Here's how it will work: In addition to the two Mid-Season trades and two Disabled-List trades, 2003 SLPL owners can make two Premium Trades for $20 per trade. Premium Trades can be made anytime during the year but before the playoffs begin.

Premium Trades, like DL trades, go into effect one day after you notify Pedregoso Rios (by e-mail only) with a copy to Rube Furrow.

Premium Trade Fees
$20 per trade

The Rube Clause

TOP
The Rube Clause can be summarized thusly: What Commissioner Rube Furrow says, goes. That means that, despite our best efforts to rule fairly, give payouts justly, and make sure league owners are happy campers, Commissioner Rube Furrow's word is the final word when it comes to any disputes, complaints, statistical anomalies, and payouts.
